 Sanan Syugirov of Elista, Kalmykia became World Youth Champion in the category Boys U-10. At the closing ceremonies on Sunday, 2 November, FIDE President and President of the Republic of Kalmykia H.E. Kirsan Ilyumzhinov personally gave a gold medal and cup to him at the World Youth Championship in Hakidiki Greece.
