The Philippines won the gold in the men`s team event while Vietnam dominated the women`s team division in the SEA Games standard chess event held 8-13 December in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam. GM Utut Adianto of Indonesia won the gold medal in the individual championship while Vietnam`s WGM Nguyen Thi Than An finished first in the women`s division. Visit the official chess web site .

Forty one players from eight countries and 34 women from
seven countries competed in the 9-round Swiss system. The
composite team standing is the total rank of the top four
players of each country.
