A 12 Round Swiss Tournament organized by the German Chess Federation with the prize fund of more than 30,000 EUR is over and the new European Women`s Champion is IM Alexandra Kosteniuk of Russia, she resulted with 9 points out of 8 wins. It was the first success of a young 19-year-old International Master after she won the title of the Vice World Women`s Champion in Moscow in December 2001.
We would like to use this opportunity and congratulate Alexandra with this great victory and also send our best wishes of good luck in the future tournaments on the occasion of her coming birthday on April 23!
