FIDE TRAINING CENTER IN SLOVENIA

TRAINING FOR THE WORLD`S YOUNG CHESS PLAYERS

At the 75th FIDE Congress (Mallorca, Spain) it was decided that a FIDE training center for young chess players will be established in Slovenia.

Slovenia is very well known in the chess world. Among Slovenian`s advantages are its flexibility, complete safety, high standard of all services and a long chess tradition. Chess players were convinced during the 35th Chess Olympiad in Bled 2002 about all of these facts.

We will organize eight regular 7-day seminars in Slovenia during 2005. Young chess players all over the world are invited. They will be divided into the four categories:

- ELO under 1800
- ELO from 1800 – 2000
- ELO from 2000 – 2250
- ELO over 2250

There will be training for each group, when it will be min. 15 (fifteen) entries.

According to wishes we can organize training for smaller groups also (national teams, clubs, other groups of young players…) in other periods, which can be chosen by these groups. In this case it is necessary to contact FIDE training center one month in advance.

Training will be conducted by the World`s top trainers, mainly FIDE Senior trainers and in all FIDE languages (English, German – Uwe Boensch. French – Iosif Dorfman, Spanish – Elizbar Ubilava, Russian – Yuri Razuvaev). We will organize these seminars (if it will be posssible) before or after strong open tournaments in Slovenia (or in countries around) with the idea that participants can have practical tests of their skills.
