The traditional Biel Chess Festival is in full swing with 9 events this year: a GM tournament, the Accentus Ladies tournament, Master tournament with 98 players, main tournament with 162 players, Swiss blitz tournament on 23rd July, Youth tournament on 24th July, Swiss rapid tournament won by GM Evgeny Alekseev, simultaneous tournament and Chess-Tennis Tournament.
