GM Ahmet Adly of Egypt won the African Individual Championship 2005 held 4 to 15 November in Lusaka, Zambia alone with 7 points. GM Slim Belkhodja of Tunisia, FM Ali Frhat of Egypt and Stanley Chumfwa of Zambia tied for second with 6.5 points each. Tuduetso Sabure (BOT) won the women`s division with 7 points followed by WM S.
