Egyptians Rule African Juniors and Girls Championship |

Egyptian youths dominated the African Juniors and Girls Championships held December 09 to 23 in Gaborone, Botswana. Amin Bassem won the Junior division while 11-year-old Mona Khaled won the Girls Under-20 championship. This is the second WGM norm of the child prodigy. Amin notched his third GM norm to be the youngest GM in Arab and African countries. .
African Juniors and Girls Championship U20 was held December 09 - 23 in Gaborone, Botswana. Amin Bassem of Egypt won this 9th rounds round robin championship in Juniors section. 11 years old Khaled Mona of Egypt won the Girls championship. Mona Khaled the youngest ever WIM made
her second WGM during one month from African Girls U20, after obtaining
Gold Medal with 8.5 points of 9 total points. Bassem Amin also got his third GM
norm to be second Egyptian GM and youngest GM in Arab and African Countries.
