The russian chess magazine ''64'' has announced that the winner of the eleventh chess Oscar is the current World Champion Veselin Topalov. 361 chess experts from 68 countries awarded the Oscar to him. On 10th of May 2006 in Sofia, Bulgaria Veselin Topalov will be granted the statuette - ''Fascinated Wanderer'' at the opening of the international tournament. Please read more here.

In 293 lists of the «best ten» Topalov is put on the first place. In the sum it has typed 4376 points. And here who has appeared on the subsequent places: 2. V.Anand (India) — 3495 (31 times he is named by the first), 3. L.Aronyan (Armenia) — 2721 (10), 4. P.Svidler (Russia) — 1881 (1), 5. P.Leko (Hungary) — 1187, 6. A.Morozevich (Russia) — 1025 (4), 7. Garry Kasparov (Russia) — 1001 (12), 8. Vasily Ivanchuk (Ukraine) — 968 (2), 9. R.Ponomarev (Ukraine) — 821, 10. M.Carlsen (Norway) — 433 (2).
Additionally it is interesting to note that
Garry Kasparov was awarded for five times, Vishwanatan Anand — for four times, Vladimir Kramnik — once.
