International tournament Children`s Chess Games Vojvodina 2006 was held July 1st to July 9th in Novi Sad, Serbia. Can Emre of Turkey won the games with 8 points. Scoring 7.5 points, Roganovic Milos of Serbia is on the second place. This tournament is under the patronage of the president of Executive Council of Vojvodina, H.E. FIDE President Kirsan Ilyumzhinov was Guest of Honor at the International Children`s Chess Games Vojvodina 2006 which was held July 1st to July 9th in Novi Sad, Serbia. This tournament is under the patronage of the president of Executive Council of Vojvodina, H.E. Bojan Pajtic and former World Champion Anatoly Karpov. Children from over 20 countries have come to participate in this event.
The opening ceremony took place in the Executive Council of Vojvodina on July 1st 2006. The FIDE President honored the International Children Chess Games Vojvodina 2006 among the developmental international competitions.
FIDE President Mr. Kirsan Ilyumzhinov hold several meetings with Vice-President of Montenegro Olympic Committee Mr. Bozhedar Ivanovich, President of Montenegro Chess Federation Mr. Srjan Dragashevic. During the meeting with President of Executive Council of Vojvodina H.E. Bojan Pajtic the questions of mutual cooperation between World Chess Federation (FIDE), Republic of Kalmykia and Vojvodina in the sphere of economics, culture and sport were discussed.

Organizers of International Children`s Chess Games Vojvodina 2006 are: Company Minaqua - the biggest producer of mineral water in Serbia, Novi Sad Chess Club and Mensa Serbia.
Organizers hope that this competition will become a traditional chess event in Novi Sad.
