Former World Title Challenger Viktor Korchnoi of Switzerland has gotten his crown at 75, having won the 16th World Senior Championship held 11-23 September 2006 in Arvier, Valle d’Aosta, Italy. Korchnoi finished in solo first with 9 points in the 11-round Swiss tournament with 126 participants. WGM Ludmila Saunina, 54, of Russia won the Women`s section alone with 8.5 points over 13 other women. Read more.
