India garnered ten medals including 5 Golds in the World Youth Championships for boys and girls in age groups 8, 10, 12, 14, 16 and 18 held 17-29 October in Batumi, Georgia. A total of 794 players from 56 countries competed in the twelve divisions with 3 GMs, 4 WGMs, 15 IMs, 11 WIMs, 28 FMs, 20 WFMs, 1 CM and 2 WCM. .
