I Campeonato Iberoamericano de ajedrez took place in Ayamonte (Spain) from 9 to 18 November 2006. There were 15 countries participating, 24 chess players, among them - 12 Grandmasters. GM Lazaro Bruzon of Cuba beat IM Manuel Perez C. of Spain in the final match and became the first Champion of FIBDA. More detailed information can be found at Official site of the tournament.
