The International Chess Festival "Aeroflot Open 2007" was held 13-23 February 2007 in Moscow, Russia. The official hotel and tournament venue was hotel "Gamma-Delta" belonging to the Tourist Complex "Ismailovo". The Organizers of the Festival are the "Aeroflot-Russian Airlines", the Association of Chess Federations and the Russian Chess Federation in cooperation with the Committee on Tourism of the Municipality of Moscow.

The festival consists of four tournaments. Each event is a nine rounds Swiss Tournament. The total prize fund of the four tournaments is 200 000 USD.

GM Dmitry Jakovenko and GM Evgeny Tomashevsky made a draw in the final round. GM Evgeny Alekseev took this chance and became the Winner of Aeroflot Open 2007.

FIDE President Kirsan Ilyumzhinov established a special FIDE President`s award - Personal Notebook for the best and beautiful game among young chess players up to 18 years old.

On 13 February in the Hotel Ismailovo the Opening Ceremony of the Aeroflot Open 2007 took place. The FIDE President Kirsan Ilyumzhinov attended the Opening Ceremony.
