Congratulations to FIDE Secretary General Ignatius Leong of Singapore on his wedding in Singapore last weekend to Celine Dao of Vietnam. Over 300 guests, including a delegation of 29 from Veitnam and representatives of ten federations from around Asia and Europe joined in celebrating their nuptials. . Characteristically, the newlyweds are having their honeymoon at the ASEAN Youth Championships in Thailand.
Among the foreign personalities present were National Chess Federation of the Philippines President Prospero Pichay, Thailand Chess Federation President Kantathi Suphamongkhon, Myanmar Chess Federation presisdent Maung Maung Lwin, Indonesian Chess Federation Deputy President Eka Putra and GM Utut Adianto and Ibrahim Bakkar, Lin Feng and Sun Lian Zhi, former General Secretaries of the China Chess Association, Turkish Chess Federation president Ali Nihay Yazici, GM Bachar Kouatly of France and Global Chess Executive Directory Geoffrey Borg of Malta.
