II Ruy Lopez International Chess Festival |

 The Second Edition of the International Festival Ruy Lopez will be held in the city of Merida from 4 to April 13, 2008, organized by the City of Merida, the Association Ruy Lopez and the Club Linex-Magic in the
headquarters of the Parliament of Extremadura (Assemblea de Extremadura) which will be celebrating its 25th anniversary.

The Second Edition of the International Festival Ruy Lopez will be held in the city of Merida from 4 to April 13, 2008, organized by the City of Merida, the Association Ruy Lopez and the Club Linex-Magic in the
headquarters of the Parliament of Extremadura (Assemblea de Extremadura) which will be celebrating its 25th anniversary.
The main event of the Festival is the masterly Tournament (from 5th to 11th April) with the participation of Adams, Michael (ENG), Sargissian, Gabriel (ARM), Zhang, Pengxiang (CHN), Koneru, Humpy (IND), Granda Zuniga, Julio E (PER), Hou, Yifan (CHN), Caruana, Fabiano (ITA) and Perez Candelario, Manuel (ESP). The games will be transmitted on Internet with commentaries by Leontxo Garcia who will be present in the analysis room (open to all fans).
To complete the Children`s Tournament (4th and 5th April) there will be a closed event of Rule International Master (from 5th to 11th April) and the II Open ``Ruy Lopez Opening`` (12th and 13th April) where all the games will start in the following order:- 1. e4 e5 2.Cf3 Cc6 3.Ab5 with more than 11,000 Euros as prizes.
Besides on 10th April in the Art School of Merida there will be a day of ``Art and Chess`` with the presence of the genius Fernando Arrabal who will give a conference.
