The Asian Chess Federation launched the Asian Chess Academy with its initial project of teaching chess in schools in Al Ain, United Arab Emirates. Asian Chess Federation President Sheikh Sultan bin Khalifah Al Nahyan signed the memorandum with Ministry of Education officials to introduce chess in schools. The Asian Chess Federation shall assist national federations in establishing their own Asian Chess Academies in their respective cities. .

The Asian Chess Federation launched the Asian Chess Academy with its initial project of teaching chess in schools in Al Ain, United Arab Emirates. Asian Chess Federation President Sheikh Sultan bin Khalifah Al Nahyan, president of the Al Ain Chess Club, signed the Memorandum of Agreement with Ministry of Education officials.
A number of staff coaches shall train teachers in schools to teach basics to children. A cadre of Trainers shall then give higher training to advanced students.
The Asian Chess Federation shall assist national federations in establishing their own Asian Chess Academies in their respective cities. Sheikh Sultan said that chess equipment and chess books for beginners shall be provided to developing federations in Asia.
