Ataturk International Women Masters took place in Istanbul, Turkey, from 10 to 20 March 2008. 8 chess players were invited and two Turkish women best players were taken from FIDE ELO List. The system of the tournament was a 9 round Round-Robin. The venue of the tournament was Is Bankası Towers in Istanbul.

The closing ceremony of the first super tournament ever held in Turkey Is Bank Ataturk International Women Masters took place in the Is Bank Museum, where the players had a chance to see the history of the oldest bank of the Turkey.

FIDE President Kirsan Ilyumzhinov, Sports Minister of Turkey Murat Basesgioglu, and General Director of Turkish Is Bank Ersin Ozince delivered speeches in the closing ceremony. The players received their trophies and medals afterwards.
