Firstly, the UAE had joined the World Federation for Chess Composition (WFCC), and allowed participants fro UAE to compete for the international solving rating. Under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, the Crown Prince of Fujairah, the rated 2nd Fujairah endurance chess solving competition was organized on Sunday, 27th January 2019, in the frames of the 15th International Solving Contest. On the same day, 648 solvers from 49 countries were taking part in the 15th ISC, and the tourney in Fujairah proved to be the most successful one. This was a historical event for Arab countries. More than 1.000 years ago chess problems were brought to Western Europe thanks to Arab manuscripts, and in 2019 they came back to its origins in the form of the first solving competition under international rules. Arab world may be proud of the word “mansuba” that has been used in the rest of the world, describing the first known chess problems.
