Some favorites have confirmed their positions on the penultimate day of the championship.

The World University Championship Chess 2018 is already moving towards its end. At the end of 9 rounds, let's find out who are the best college chess players in the world. The competition, which takes place in Aracaju since September 12, received 48 athletes from 13 countries.

With seven complete rounds, the partial ranking already gives an idea of the highlights of the competition. The strongest countries in the overall dispute are China, Serbia, Czech Republic and Poland. In male category, Grandmaster Lu Shanglei has been recovering after being defeated early in the competition and reaching tenth position in WUC Chess in the early rounds. The Chinese now appear in second position, followed by the Serbian Marko Nenezic. The chess player Tadeas Kriebel of the Czech Republic has the first place for now.

Among the girls, Chinese favoritism continues. After several rounds in the first place, the Peruvian Cori T Daisy is in third place and the Chinese Shiqun Ni took her place. The Brazilian Julia Alboredo remains in second place.

The last round of WUC Chess begins this Tuesday, September 18, at 9:00 AM. The big winners' awards come just after the end of the rounds on Tuesday afternoon. The championship is being held at the Hotel Real Praia, Aracaju.
