International Mid Atlantic Tournament

Chess Educators in partnership with South Jersey Innovation Center are delighted to welcome chess players to play in the International Mid Atlantic Tournament. This event is open to all chessplayers.

Sections:

All sections are USCF and FIDE rated. There are 5 sections in this event; minimum 10 players for each section. Sections with less than 10 players may be combined:

Open
Under 1900
Under 1700
Under 1500
Under 1200

Tournament Format:

5-SS, G/120 + 5 seconds delay.

FIDE RULES APPLIED —Ratings: FIDE June List. USCF June rating supplement. USCF Rules apply and section placement is based on USCF rating— conversion for foreign players. USCF membership required.

Time Control:

5-SS, G/120 + 5 seconds delay.

 

Schedule:

Friday, August 10; 7pm
Sat., August 11; 10am & 3:30pm
Sun., August 12; 10am & 3:30pm

Byes:

2 byes available, must commit before round 3; 0 point bye for round 5.

Prizes:

Open: $1200- $800- $600-$400-$200;
U/1900: $500-$300
U/1700: $300-$200;
U/1500: $300;
U/1200: $200.

 

Taxes:

All players who earn a prize over $600 will be required to fill out a tax form and we will declare their taxes. The tax amount will be reduced from the prize.

Electronic Devices will not be allowed in the International Mid Atlantic Tournament. We will follow US Chess Federation rules and Continental Chess’ recommendations.

Registrations shall be made through the official website at www.chesseducators.com. USCF membership required.

 
 

Entry Fees:

Tournament Registration Fee: $99 by June 1, 2018; US$109 by July 8, 2018 & US$120 After July 9, 2018.

Visas:

The Organization will issue letters of Invitation for Visa purposes.
