17th AUUS Games-Association of Uganda University Sports is a national sporting and cultural festival which is staged every two years at a members home. The games got under way from the 16th – 21st of December 2017 at Ndejje main campus located within Luwero district. One of the goals of AUUS is to help member institutions develop their sports facilities and by what was seen at these games so far is very positive.

The 17th AUUS games were officially opened by Hon. Ephraim Kamutu on behalf of the President of Uganda His Excelence Gen. Y.K. Museven. Among other sponsors for the games include Urban TV, DFCU, Xfm, AUUS

The 17th AUUS Games, which took place at Ndeje University Campus main campus, attracted a total of 17 Universities that participated over 10 disciplines of which chess was among.

The tournament attracted a field of 57 players with (24) ladies from 6 universities and (33) Men from 7 Universities.

MUBS (Makerere University Business School) Women’s team emerged winners in the 17th AUUS Games in the Ladies category and the Men’s team came in second in their category.
