The Kuwait Men’s Championship was held from January 9 - 19, 2018.

The men’s event started as a 10-player round robin.

Alothman Salem, Alothman Abdul Wahab and Al Azmi Khalaf shared the first place in men’s section with 7/9 points each.

Salem is crowned new national champion thanks to the better Direct Encounter tie-break.
