VENUE:

The National Team Chess Championships will be held from January 4th (day of arrival) until January 8th (day of departure) 2018 at Pakistan Sports Board Quetta Center, Quetta.

ORGANIZERS:

The Championships will be organized by Balochistan Chess Association in collaboration with Chess Federation of Pakistan and under the Umbrella of Asian Chess Federation (ACF) and World Chess Federation (FIDE).

PARTICIPATION:

Each member unit of Chess Federation of Pakistan (CFP) has the right to enter one team of four (4) players and one (1) official in the open competition and one team of four (4) female players and one (1) official in the women’s competition as official/ invited teams.

All the participants must be registered member of Chess Federation of Pakistan and must have fide ID number to take part in the competition.

Though each member unit has the right to enter one extra team (The host shall have the right to enter 2 extra teams) in each competition subject to the following conditions;

I. The extra team for open competition shall be charged an entry fee of Rs.10, 000/.
II. The extra team for Women competition shall be charged an entry fee of Rs.5, 000/.
III. No facility like boarding/ lodging and travel allowance shall be provided.

TIME CONTROL & SYSTEM OF PLAY

The Team Championships shall be played according to the round robin system with one open section and one section for the women’s teams, each considered as separate competitions. According to FIDE rules, the time control will be 90 minutes with a 30 seconds increment for every move played starting from the move one. Both competitions shall be rated by World Chess Federation (FIDE).

World Chess Federation (FIDE) has recognized both the events and has allotted registration number as follows;

FIDE Event Registration Code of Pakistan National Women Team Chess Championship 2018 is 178613

SCHEDULE OF PLAY:

Both competitions shall be played from 4th to 8th Jan. 2018. Detailed schedule will be announced after the confirmation of the number of registered teams on 1st January, 2018.

ACCOMMODATION:

All official/invited teams except services shall be provided free accommodation with 3 meals daily from January 4th (day of arrival) January 8th (day of departure) 2018.

TRAVEL ALLOWANCE:

All official/invited teams shall be provided with two way economy class train fare except services.

CASH PRIZES:

Cash Prizes shall be announced during the opening ceremony.

APPEALS COMMITTEE:

The Chairman and members (one from each participating units) of the Appeals Committee of the competition will be announced before start of round 01.

The appeal submission fee shall be set at the same time.

TIE BREAKS:

a) Points (games points) [1]
b) Match Points (2 for wins, 1 for draws, 0 for loses) [13]
c) Result of Teams in same point group according to match points [14]
d) Board Tie Breaks of the whole tournament [15]

Swiss manager pairing software shall be used.

SPECIAL COMPETITION RULES:

1. Any player who has not arrived at his board 60 minutes after the start of the session shall lose the game.
2. To maintain the score sheet is mandatory.
3. Players cannot leave the playing hall without the permission of the Chief Arbiter.
4. Mobile phones or any electronic device in the playing hall in any case shall not be allowed.

REGISTRATION:

Not later than December 29th 2017, each participating unit shall confirm the exact team lists with all names. The list must be sent to both the Organizers and the General Secretary of Chess Federation of Pakistan.

Late Entries: Applications received after the last date may be refused or be subject to a fine of Rs.1000/.
