During the week it took place at the hotel Ferrer Concord, the 19th International Chess Open of Can Picafort, where little more than half a hundred players was play one more year to measure their chess level, in a event organized by WinterChess.

In the tournament have participated a total of 9 players with FIDE title, of which we can highlight the presence of 4 Great Masters.

The Argentinean international Master stands as champion of the 19 Open international Can Picafort, Trofeu Ferrer hotels, after adding 5.5 points of the 7 possible and without knowing the defeat.

At the same time, Manuel Queirolo tied points with the winner, although the system of ties clearly favored the Argentine.

The podium is completed by the Grand Master of Paraguay Zenon Franco, half a point of the first two.

In the awards ceremony was present the General Manager of the Hotel Ferrer Concord, Jose Martinez, which together with the President of the Balearic Island Chess Federation and the mayor of Can Picafort, Juan Monjo, guaranteed the continuity of this event organized by the FIO Sebastià Nadal.
