China, Uzbekistan, Philippine ranked top 3 in gold medal list

The 13th Asian Schools Chess Championship in Panjin, China from 19th to 30th July 2017 has come to a successful end. Chinese Chess Association under the auspices of the Asian Chess Federation and World Chess Federation, organized the event in high-standard playing hall and hotel, earning unanimous acclaims from more than 700 participants from 23 countries and regions in Asia.

Mr. Yang Junan, the VP of FIDE and President of Chinese Chess Association, said, “China provided a happy unforgettable chess festival for all youth Asian players, giving them a precious chance to experience the happiness from Chess in China. Panjin devoted to a top standard event. The hotel and food is excellent. The playing hall has met the standard of world event. Organizer is very thoughtful to arrange a rest room for parents next to the playing hall. ”

This event is organized by Chinese Chess Association with the support of Liaoning Sports Bureau, Panjin Government, Panjin Sports Bureau, Panjin Educational Bureau and operated by Panjin Hexiang Cultural Company. 50 volunteers from Shenyang Ligong University were recruited for the event during the passed 10 days with full passion. Hundreds of policemen served to guarantee the absolute safety for all people.

The local organizer arranged a free tourism tour for all players on the rest day at the Red Beach, the most famous site in Panjin. Except for enjoying the amazing beautiful scenery, players watched wonderful Chinese style dancing “Dragon and Lion Dance”.

After 9 rounds blitz games, the awarding ceremony was held on 29th July in Art Museum where the playing venue was located. China won 10 gold medals, Uzbekistan won 8 gold medals and Philippines won 7 gold medals.
