Ten countries, 17 title holders, 3 norms achieved at First Saturday Budapest July 2017
Although it was a sunny mid-summer outside, players from various nations and continents came to play at First Saturday chess tournament between 1-11 July 2017 in Budapest, Hungary. According to the interest of players , there were separate groups for Grandmasters, International Masters, FIDE Masters as well as for their candidate counterparts, along with a special group people having lessd than 2000 ELO points.
The tournament went flawlessly under the supervision of the Hungarian-Libyan group of arbiters: Tamás Gyömbér (HUN), Ahmed Sharata (LBA), Peter Szamoskozi (HUN). First two achieved their FIDE Arbiter norms at the tournament by outstanding work.

 FM LUDWIG, John (USA), 2nd IM norm
Grandmaster group was won by GM Attila Czebe (HUN), Ludwig G John (USA) and Sheng Joshua (USA), achieving 6, and 5.5-5.5 points from 9, which gained International Master norm for Ludwig G John.

 IGM Ilincic (SRB) and IM Sredojevic (SRB)
International Masters group got led by GM Ilincic Zlatko (SRB), IM Sredojevic Ivan (SRB) and Xu Zhihang (CHN) having 8, 6.5 and 5.5 points.

 IM Faragó (HUN)
In FM Group, IM Sándor Faragó (HUN) got unbeaten and became the winner of the double Round-Robin with 8 wins and 2 draws (9 of 10 points).

 Waisberg (ISR), the winner of the FMB group, 85 year old!!
Altogether there were 32 people, with 17 title holder from 10 different countries and 3 continents, which keeps First Saturday one of the most international event in the world. Venue of this wonderful event was Hotel Berlin*** in the greener part of Southern Budapest, which gives an ideal home for the First Saturday series.
