The Romanian National Championships, 81st edition open and 69th edition women sections, started on the 25th of March in the picturesque town Calimanesti. First ranked players are Constantin Lupulescu, Mircea Parligras, Bogdan Deac and Andrei Istratescu in open competition, respectively Corina Peptan, Irina Bulmaga, Luminita Cosma, Raluca Sgircea, Mihaela Sandu in women competition.
