Meeting with the leadership of the Lebanese Chess Federation in Beirut Print

On the 28th of June the FIDE President, Head of the Republic of Kalmykia Kirsan Ilyumzhinov met in Beirut the leadership of the Lebanese Chess Federation, where the parties discussed the most important problems of the chess development in this country. The main problem for the Lebanese Federation is the lack of material support from the state, as well as lack of premises for the needs of the Federation and qualified trainers. The FIDE President informed on the preparation for the 39th Chess Olympiad, replied to a number of questions in connections with the organisation of the next forum and other relevant issues.
The President of the Lebanese Chess Federation Mr. Nabil Sino invited the FIDE President to attend the Arab Junior and Girls Championship which will be organised in Lebanon from 25 July to 5 August 2010. The officials of the Lebanese Chess Federation who were present at the meeting, are: Vice President Elie Khairallah, General Secretary Shihad Abunemri, Mrs. Marie Queni, Mr. Hussein Hammoud.
