FIDE representative to the International Olympic Committee Mr. Bolat Asanov arrived on an official visit to Lausanne, Switzerland to meet with IOC representatives in their headquarters. In the course of the meeting it was mentioned that Chess has a real chance to be included in the Olympic Games program. In 2008 two vacancies are expected due to the fact that some sports such as baseball will be leaving Olympic program. The meeting was held in a friendly and cooperative manner.
