Greek Chess Federation Elections

On Sunday 18/12/2016 were held the elections for the new Council for Board of the Greek Chess Federation with the participation of 3 candidate teams.

Mr. Georgios Makropoulos and his team has won the elections with 68,8 %, electing all the counselors to the Greek Chess Federation Board.

Mr. Makropoulos, who is the current FIDE Deputy President, has been elected as President of the Greek Chess Federation since 1982, and this was the 11th time he has been successfully re-elected to this position. At the end of the four-year term, in 2020, Mr. Makropoulos will complete 38 years as President of the Greek Chess Federation.

The elections are held every 4 years, the same year as the Olympic Games.
