On December 16 Kirsan Ilyumzhinov took part in the Opening Ceremony of the Nutcracker Generation Tournament.

The famous chess patron Oleg Skvortsov is a sponsor of the event.

This year there will be battles between male (Kings vs. Princes) and female (Queens vs. Princesses) teams.
