On May 25th one of the strongest tournaments started in Shamkir – Vugar Gashimov Memorial which is organized for the third time with the support of Synergy Group. At the opening ceremony present were the FIDE President Kirsan Ilyumzhinov, Minister of Youth and Sports of Azerbaijan Azad Ragimov, Vice President of Azerbaijan CF Mahir Mammedov, father of Vugar - Gasim Gashimov, Executive Director of Synergy Group Gudrat Seyfullayev, Governor of Shamkir region Alim-Pasha Mammedov, Vice President of Azerbaijan CF and Chief Arbiter Faik Hasanov.
