On May 3rd the five-time Women’s World Chess Champion, eleven-time winner of World Chess Olympiad, the first woman who was awarded with the title of Grandmaster, the first President of Georgian NOC, Nona Gaprindashvili celebrated her 75th anniversary. On invitation of the Georgian Chess Federation, the FIDE delegation arrived to Tbilisi to take part in the festive events and congratulate Nona Gaprindashvili. A star named after her was opened at the Chess Palace in Tbilisi.
