World School Chess Championship 2016

Due to security reasons and travel advice/bans published by a number of countries FIDE Presidential Board, met in Athens on 6 December 2015, decided to cancel the World School Chess Championship 2016 in Sousse, Tunisia. FIDE has awarded to Tunisia the option to organise the respective Championship on 2018.

FIDE Events Commission re-opens the bids for World School Championship 2016 with the notice that because of the time restraints it could be organized in late 2016 (November or December), where there are available dates.

With effect from 1st January 2013, a bid for any FIDE Competitions onwards shall include the name of a FIDE licensed International Organizer.

You need JavaScript enabled to view it by Monday 1st February 2016, 16:00 local time (UTC/GMT + 2 hours). Each bid should be accompanied with a bid fee of 500 euros.

Bid Fees are not refundable. Bid fees should be paid the latest by 8th February 2016 to the FIDE bank account (free of charges) or to be enclosed in the bid envelope.
