Letter from FISU President Oleg Matytsin

Dear President ILYUMZHINOV,

I am writing to you today in my capacity as the newly-elected President of the International University Sports Federation. I would like to personally express my hope that, during my administration of FISU, we can continue and build upon the same excellent relationship with FIDE that was in place during the administration of Claude-Louis Gallien.

In my pre-vote speech at our recent General Assembly, I stated how crucial it is for FISU to continue to develop strategic partnerships with International Federations. This was one of my key manifesto points and I believe it will help the National University Sports Federations foster closer ties with the sports in their countries which students are passionate about. We in FISU are interested in working together with the International Sports Federations to promote sports values and encourage good sports practice among young people.

I am greatly looking forward to FISU working closely with FIDE over the coming years in supporting student sport and education in the World.
