FIDE President at the SportAccord Extraordinary General Assembly
On November 10, the FIDE President arrived to Lausanne, Switzerland to take part in the meeting of the SportAccord Council, at which the issues related to the Extraordinary General Assembly of the organization have been discussed. As it is known, Kirsan Ilyumzhinov represents the interests of seventeen Associate Members such as IMSA, International World Games Association, International Committee of Sports for the Deaf, International Military Sports Council, etc.
The Extraordinary General Assembly was held on November 11 at the Hotel Royal Savoy. It has been decided to merge two organizations into one body: SportAccord, the umbrella organisation for the international sports federations, and SportAccord Convention, which organizes the sports exhibitions. The proposals on any changes and additions to the Statutes can be submitted until 26th January for the next General Assembly meeting.
The same day the FIDE President took part in the annual International Federation (IF) Forum. IOC President Thomas Bach delivered his speech to the forum participants.
