On the 31st of August in Kiev, with the President's of Ukraine Administration Head Boris Lozhkin's Chair, a meeting of the Organising Committee for preparation and holding of the World Chess Championship match in Lvov. The representatives of various state, government and public bodies, including the FIDE President Kirsan Ilyumzhinov, Minister of Sports and Youth Igor Zhdanov, Lvov Regional and City Administration Head Oleg Sinyutka, Ukrainian Chess Federation President Viktor Kapustin and Assistant to the FIDE President Berik Balgabaev participated in the meeting which has resulted in a protocol decision.
The same day the FIDE President met with the Mayor of Kiev Vitaliy Klitschko. The parties have discussed the issues of bilateral cooperation. It was decided that in October 2016 the Ukrainian capital will host one of the stages of the FIDE Women's Grand-Prix. The respective letter of the Mayor will be sent to FIDE in the next days. Mr. Vitaly Klichko has also confirmed their intention to start introduction of chess education in the Kiev schools as a facultative subject.
