Today in Lausanne, the FIDE President Kirsan Ilyumzhinov met with IOC President Thomas Bach at Château de Vidy. The issues of bilateral cooperation have been discussed, as well as the introduction of chess into the programme of Winter Olympic Games. At the meeting also present were the FIDE Deputy President Georgios Makropoulos, FIDE Treasurer Adrian Siegel, FIDE CEO Geoffrey Borg, FIDE President’s Assistant Berik Balgabaev, former World Chess Champion Vladimir Kramnik, IOC Director General Christophe De Kepper, IOC Sports Director Kit McConnell, and IOC Deputy Director General Pere Miro.
