On June 3 the FIDE President arrived to Dubai for the closing ceremony of the 3rd Arab Elite Chess Championship – Kirsan Ilyumzhinov Cup. The tournament was held in the Dubai Chess and Culture Club. 16 players from 15 Arab countries participated in 2015 edition.

Kirsan Ilyumzhinov awarded the winner GM Mohammed Al-Sayed a beautiful cut-glass cup. At the ceremony also present were Ibrahim Al Bannai, President of Arab Chess Federation, Saeed Al Megbali, President of UAE Chess Federation, and officials from different Arab Chess Federation member countries.
