The Women’s Commission (WOM) of the World Chess Federation is pleased to announce that the winner of the 2014 Caissa award is Ms. Hou Yifan of China.

Yifan just turned 21 this past February and she has accomplished a lot as the Women’s World Champion in 2014. Some key highlights were:

Winning the 2013-2014 Women’s Grand Prix, with clear victories last year in Khanty-Mansiysk and Lopota, and tying for first in Sharjah.

Yifan excelled at the World Mind Games winning gold in the Blitz and Basque formats. Additionally, she also won the Corsican Chess Circuit.
