2015 1st quarter Presidential Board meeting was held under the auspices of the Chinese Chess Association in Chengdu, China, on 27th April 2015.

The President thanked the municipality of Chengdu and the Chinese Chess Association for organizing the event. It being the first time an official FIDE meeting has been held in China.

The Presidential Board accepted the applications for provisional membership of the Eritrea, Kosovo, Liberia and Nauru Chess Federations pending full membership to be approved at the General Assembly 2016 in Baku.

The Presidential Board agreed action would be taken against the South African Chess Federation unless they fulfill their obligations regarding arbiters at the World Youth 2014.  

The PB approved titles presented by the Qualification, Arbiters and Events Commissions.

It also approved FIDE Competition Rules as proposed by the Rules and Tournament Regulations Commission.

They also approved the proposals of the Journalists’ and Online Commissions. However, it only approved in part recommendations of Trainers’ and Technical Commissions.

The Presidential Board approved a bid for the World Rapid and Blitz Championship in Berlin, 9-15 October 2015 and for World Junior and Girls U-20 2017 Championship in Tarvisio, Italy, 1-16 October 2017. The Board awarded the 2017 World Senior Championship to Venice, Italy, and the 2017 World Senior Team Championship to Eretria, Greece. The 2017 World Youth was awarded to Montevideo, Uruguay, and the 2017 World Cadet Championship was awarded to Brazilia, Brazil.

The Board noted the change of date for 2018 Chess Olympiad in Batumi, Georgia, 23 September – 7 October, and the 2018 FIDE Congress - 28 September – 7 October 2018.

The Board received a report from the Anti-Cheating Commission which advised that at present it was investigating the two cases.

The Board discussed the Wesley So case and agreed that relative Commissions would issue a statement.

The Board congratulated the FIDE President for becoming a member of the SportAccord Council.
