The Championships will be held in Juiz de Fora, Minas Gerais State, Brazil from November 26th to December 4th 2014.
An inspection of the facilities was made by Jorge Vega (Continental President for the Americas) and David Jarrett (former Executive Director) from September 26th to 27th 2014. The event was originally scheduled for Peru but with the agreement of FIDE was switched to Brazil at short notice. The university city of Juiz de Fora is under three hour’s drive north of Rio de Janeiro although there are also regular flights to the local airport from Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo.
The inspectors were accompanied by the President of the Brazilian Chess Federation, GM Darcy Lima.
The closing date for entries is October 28th.
