On Friday, 19th of September 2014, during the International Investment Forum “Sochi-2014” the FIDE President Kirsan Ilyumzhinov and the Governor of the Krasnodar Krai Alexander Tkachev signed an agreement on establishing the Sports Center for Chess Training named after the former World Chess Champion Vladimir Kramnik in Krasnodar Krai.
The talented chess players will be educated at this center by the strongest trainers and the lectures will be conducted by the famous grandmasters. Vladimir Kramnik, who was born in Tuapse of Krasnodar Krai, shared his hope on creating such centers throughout Russia.
