Article 2.2 of the Electoral Regulations provides that following the FIDE Presidential ticket election, the General Assembly shall adjourn and the Continental Associations shall convene to elect their Continental President and Continental Deputy President. During this adjournment, nominations for FIDE elected positions, including elected Vice Presidents, Ethics Commission, Constitutional Commission and Verification Commission, shall be made to the Secretariat.

Please note that the FIDE Secretariat will have an office at the General Assembly venue where nominations may be submitted.

Vice Presidents

Nominations for the position of elected Vice President shall be made to the Secretariat by the delegates or proxies representing federations at the General Assembly. A candidate for the position of Vice President must be nominated by at least three Delegates or proxies. The three nominations may either be listed on a single sheet of paper, or be signed separately. A delegate or proxy is entitled to nominate only one candidate for the position of Vice President. A Federation may nominate one of its own members or a member of another federation.

FIDE recommends that the following wording be used for the nomination of candidates for the position of Vice Presidents in accordance with Articles 2.2 and 2.8 of the Electoral Regulations:

“I, the Delegate of the federation of _______________________ [insert country], acting on behalf of my own federation / the federation of _______________________ [insert country or cross as appropriate], hereby nominate _______________________ [insert name] as a candidate for the position of Vice President.

Verification Commission members

The Verification Commission members (three members in total) shall be nominated by the Delegate or President of a Federation, a Continental President or by the FIDE President. A Federation may nominate its own members or members of another federation.

FIDE recommends that the following wording be used for the nomination of candidates for the position of Verification Commission members in accordance with Article 2.2 of the Electoral Regulations and Article 2.1 of the Verification Commission chapter in Chapter 8 of the Statutes:

“I, ______________________________________________ [insert name and position], hereby nominate _______________________ [insert name(s)] as (a) candidate(s) for the position of member(s) of the Verification Commission.

Ethics Commission
