On May 28, the FIDE delegation travelled to Ireland where in Dublin they met with the leadership of the Irish Chess Union (ICU). The FIDE Vice President, the Chairman of FIDE Chess in Schools Commission Ali Nihat Yazici introduced a detailed project presentation on chess education, which aroused great interest and many questions. Mr. Yazici, being perhaps the best in the world specialist in this aspect, gave detailed answers and explanations. Then the FIDE President had a constructive dialogue with ICU officials, told about the main points in the FIDE’s activities, and the representatives of Irish Chess Union had a chance to share their problems, ask questions and exchange views on promising areas of work in the coming period.
