Official Visit to Puerto Rico |

The Vice President of FIDE and Chairman of CIS Commission Ali Nihat YAZICI has made an official chess in school visit to Puerto Rico. Yazici was received by the president of PRCF, Cristobal Vega and Vice President Ismael Soto. After a working meeting this group has made an official visit to Jose R.Nadal Power, senator of Puerto Rico. Visit took place in Puerto Rico El Capitolio.
Yazici, together with President and Vice President of PRCF has mentioned the benefits of chess in school for children to Senator Nadal. They have given some specific examples for the researched done in this area. They have asked to Senator Nadal to give support for launching chess in school project of Puerto Rico in August 2014 with a pilot.
Senator Nadal has answered the chess delegation that he will not only give legal support but he will be behind and protector of the chess in school project of Puerto Rico. One important subject of visit was the god gift talent of Puerto Rico, WIM Danitza Vazquez Maccarini, 13 years old (ELO 1904). Danitza is very well known in Puero Rico and this year she will represent her country as member of men national team in 41st Chess Olympiad in Tromsö.  This is the first time in the history of Puerto Rico Chess that a female has been qualified to national men team representing country in chess olympiad.
