On April 20 the FIDE President arrived on a working visit to Vietnam. In Binh Duong province he had a meeting with ex-President of the country Mr. Nguyen Minh Triet.

As it is known several years ago two presidents agreed to start CIS programme as a pilot project in this province. Now the programme is implemented in 30 schools of three districts.

Kirsan Ilyumzhinov thanked President Triet for supporting the chess development, both sides discussed the perspectives of mutual cooperation.

On Sunday in Ho Chi Minh City the FIDE President met with ex-Vice President of SRV Mrs. Truong My Hoa and told about the growth of chess movement in the world and particularly in Vietnam, especially marking the Vietnamese GM Le Quang Liem who became the World Blitz Champion last year, women's team is a serious rival for the leading teams now, and the achievements of Vietnamese chess players at the youth and junior championships are also remarkable.

Mrs. Hoa is assured that the cooperation between FIDE and SRV will bring more greatest achievements.
