FIDE President, Kirsan Ilyumzninov, took part in the meeting of Minister of Sports of Russia Vitaly Mutko with the presidents of international sports federations in Kazan where the 27th Summer Universiade is being held.

President Ilyumzhinov visited Kazan Equestrian Complex where the chess tournament of Universiade will be held. According to Alexander Tkachev, Executive Director of Russian Chess Federation, and Gennady Zakharov, President of Chess Federation of Tatarstan, more than 170 chess players from 46 countries will participate in chess battles. The applicants from Russia and China are the most imposing, among them are Dmitriy Andreikin, Sanan Syugirov, Anastasia Bodnaruk, Olga Girya, Li Chao, Ju Wenjun and others. The first games will be played on June 9th. At the meeting Minister of Sports of Russia Vitaly Mutko noted that chess is one of the disciplines where all tickets were sold out.
