On April 5 the FIDE President arrived on a working visit to France. He met with newly elected President of French Chess Federation Mr. Diego Salazar. President Ilyumzhinov congratulated Mr. Salazar and expressed the hope that constructive relations will be established between FIDE and new leadership of the French CF. The FIDE President underlined the importance of traditional chess in France for FIDE, stating that the French CF is one of the better structured and active Federations in FIDE.
