REPORT OF THE ARBITERS’ COMMISSION

for the 1st Quarter 2013 FIDE PB

A. FIDE ARBITERS’ SEMINARS

In the period from September 2012 until middle of January 2013 nineteen (19) FIDE ARBITERS’ SEMINARS were organized in the following places and dates, under the auspices of FIDE:

1. Istanbul, TURKEY, 29 August – 7 September 2012 (report and results have been published on the FIDE website).
2. Brasilia, BRAZIL, 5-9 September 2012 (report and results have been published on the FIDE website).
3. Vladivostok, RUSSIA, 17-21 September 2012 (report and results have been published on the FIDE website).
4. Sibenik, CROATIA, 27-30 September 2012 (report and results have been published on the FIDE website).
5. Buenos Aires, ARGENTINA, 28 September – 1 October 2 012 (report and results have been published on the FIDE website).
6. Commission for Women’s Chess, 18th INTERNET, 9-14 October 2012 (report and results have been published on the FIDE website).
7. USA (NACA), 19 th INTERNET, 22-27 October 2012 (report and results have been published on the FIDE website).
8. New Delhi, INDIA, 25-31 October 2012 (report and results have been published on the FIDE website).

The following FIDE Arbiters’ Seminars have been approved for the next period:

1. Patra, GREECE, 25-27 January 2013
2. Moscow, RUSSIA, 1-5 February 2013
3. GAMBIA, 11-14 February 2013
4. Ureki, GEORGIA, 18-22 June 2013

The list of the FA norms and titles for approval by the PB are attached.

B. COMMUNICATION WITH FEDERATIONS

Many e-mails have been exchanged with Elista Office and National Federations, clarifying the decisions of the Istanbul 2012 FIDE Congress, regarding the titles of FA and IA, and giving information regarding the organization of FIDE Arbiters’ Seminars, as well as the new regulations about the Arbiters’ License.

C. ARBITERS’ LICENSE

The list of the Licensed Arbiters has been published on the Arbiters’ Commission website since 1 January 2013.
The list is updated daily, according to the lists of Arbiters who get the license, submitted by the Federations. At the moment 97 Federations have sent lists with Arbiters to get the license.
The total number of the Licensed Arbiters so far is 3.380.
The cards for the Licensed Arbiters are prepared by Athens FIDE Office.
